Bonus Day 2 – Cooking

This is Orsi from on Bonus day 2 and I’ve decided that in this video I would show you how to prepare one of my favourite meals, which is creamy pesto chicken wrapped in prosciutto. Trust me, this dish is so simple, that anyone can do it. Cooking has always been one of my favourite ways of spending my spare time. I love food, the sights, the sounds, and the smells. It is based on chemistry but also involves fantasy. When I feel down or tired, I go to the kitchen and create something tasty. I hardly ever follow any recipes, unless the dish I’m planning to cook is completely out of my comfort zone.

So let’s get started.

I will have my little sister, Bianka help me with the preparation.

So what do we need? First of all we need some chicken breast. I will cook for 4 people so I’m going to use 500g of chicken. Apart from that we also need some proscuitto, double cream, sunflower seeds, pesto, garlic, parmesan and some crusty bread.

So first, we need to heat the oven to 200 Celsius. In the meantime we season the chicken all over. I usually use a mixture of all the different spices, then add paprika and some black pepper at the end. When the chicken breasts are all seasoned then we wrap each fillet in a slice of ham. Great. Now we need to place them into a large baking dish. Thank you. Now let me put the dish into the oven for 10 minutes. Lovely. What we can do while our chicken is cooking is to mix the double cream with all the remaining ingredients. Would you like to do that Bianka? Cool.

After 10 minutes we take the dish out of the oven. Be careful as it is extremely hot. Now we need to turn each breast around and put the dish back to the oven for another 10 minutes to make sure that the chicken is cooked all around.

The time is up so let’s take the dish out of the oven. Lovely. Now all we need to do is pour our mixture of double cream, pesto, sun flower seeds, and all the other ingredients onto the chicken and put the whole dish back to the oven for another 15 minutes. Well, that is all. The easiest but probably the most delicious meal I’ve ever made. While our chicken is cooking nicely in the oven, we can lay the table. As I told you before we are expecting another two guests for dinner, so we will lay the table for four people. While Bianka is decorating the table I’m going to slice the bread. Wow, it is so soft and fresh, yummy. Ok, so the table is all set, the bread is cut, now all we need to do is get the wine out of the fridge. I just love Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough area, but as I’m visiting my family and friends in Hungary right now, I will serve a tasty dry Hungarian wine instead. The Nyakas Irsai Oliver is definitely a must try when you are in Hungary but if you prefer red, then go for a Hungarian cuvee. My favourite of all is the Ordog from Vylyan. So everything is set, I mean almost everything. Obviously Bianka is still a young girl, so she will have a lovely glass of the chilled kid’s champagne.

Now let’s check on our chicken. Lovely. It smells amazing.
