Day 11 - Play & Reward

Good morning,
I hope you are feeling wonderful!

Today I would like to talk about the importance of rewarding ourselves. It is crucial to congratulate ourselves for doing a good job.

Most of the time we are so busy with trying to get things done that we don’t have time for ourselves. In order to keep up or even increase our productivity, to improve the quality of our lives, we need to take time to invest in ourselves. At first it might be challenging, but believe me, please, when I say that investing in the whole us – body, mind and soul – is the best investment we can ever make.

When you decide on the reward, please make sure it is in line with your health objectives and not something that you would regret the next day.

Rewarding ourselves is a fun and easy way to keep ourselves motivated.

They can turn our goals into habits, help us maintain a positive attitude, encourage us to stay on the right track, and finally they allow us to feel good about ourselves by giving us a way to celebrate our success.

When it comes to selecting these rewards, we need to make sure that they are decided on before we accomplish our goals, and that they are meaningful to us. Try to be creative and come up with different ideas on how to celebrate your success.

In order to keep myself motivated all the time, I’ve decided to reward myself with something small after each week, a little bit bigger after every month, and to celebrate my success with something extraordinary when I finally accomplish a big goal. Even up to this date, one of my favourite rewards is to spend a whole day in one of the nearby spas, where I can swim, use the sauna, get a lovely full body massage and just pamper myself with the beauty of relaxation.

Please never forget that investing in ourselves is the best investment we can ever make. Start the process today!

It has been almost a year since my new life has started, when I finally decided to leave my 9-5 job and follow my heart. There have been some ups and downs along the way, and I no doubt will experience challenges in the future too, but so far I definitely enjoy the ride. I worked more hours than ever during these last months, but being my own boss and running my own show while following my dream is beautiful. I understand though, that if I want to be successful, I always need to find a way to keep my commitments and get the job done. I’m highly motivated to move mountains to meet my objectives, and driven to do whatever it takes to be a winner in the business world.

But just because I am achieving great things, it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t be giving myself rewards and allowing myself to rest for a short while. We all like a pat on the back, especially when we are working hard and challenging ourselves to improve. These rewards can be reading a great book, going for a short walk, catching up with our friends, and the list could go on. A good reward is all about what works for us.

It is crucial to congratulate ourselves on the hard work we have done throughout a certain period of time. When we feel happy with the results, we will want to work even harder next time. If we skip this very important step after continuously labouring endless hours, we will get exhausted and we might eventually give up.

To avoid ever getting burnout, as you know, I’ve decided to reward myself each time after another week has ended.

My treat for today was getting an amazing Swedish massage. It felt like heaven. Massage is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain, and muscle tension. The other day, while practising yoga, I must have pulled a muscle, and the treatment today not only took care of that, but it was pampering my soul too. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards.

When it comes to your money management we need to make sure that 10% of our net income is spent on pampering ourselves.

It is there for us to blow it on things that our heart desires. Whether it is an exotic holiday, a massage, or a bottle of champagne in a nice restaurant, it doesn’t matter. The main idea of this account is to teach us how great it feels to have money and spend it too. I have to tell you that for me, this account was the most challenging one to get used to. Being a saver all my life, at first I felt guilty to spend that money on myself. Now I learnt to treat myself better and enjoy life more, and I love the new me for that.
